Woke up from my deep slumber

I earnestly embraced a new day

The time came to walk on the sun-kissed path of burnt umber

With a confident grin, I followed a glowing ray..

Battled life-threatening adventures with friends and comrades

Our bravery got tested time and again

Encountered every danger like soulful nomads

But passionately ignited hearts kept us sane…

The joyful recollections sparkled my thoughts

Yearning to be with my lover a fantasy I replayed

Our fingers entwined together in knots

As the journey that started so long ends today…

All of a sudden my world crumpled

A mighty force uplifted my spirits

Yearnings were no longer troubled

My flight of fancy exceeded the limits..

Resting in tranquility, I am back in my homeland

No one intruded as serene peace availed

Greeted with teary eyes along with a show so grand

While transiting to a new world, my soul set to be sailed

Deep and settled I am back in the slumber

Peacefully I sleep again, 

A wish each valiant soul envied forever

To reborn as a soldier, the engraved longing remain…
